Your child’s
First visit
Most children’s teeth begin erupting when they're around 6-months-old. When you see teeth, it’s time to bring them in for a visit. Getting to know your little one as early as possible gives Dr. Skutak insight into the future of your child’s oral health. She will evaluate if the teeth are erupting properly and address any pediatric dental issues that are present. Positive experiences at the dentist can also be a great way to encourage your child to continue visits twice each year into adulthood.
What to expect
At their first appointment
With the first visit, children will be introduced to the staff and dental environment. General oral health care will be discussed. Dr. Skutak will recommend treatment needed and proper care of the developing teeth. Though it might not seem like much, this first visit is important. Children who see the dentist at a young age have been shown to have healthier teeth later in life.
