Invest in

Preventive treatment

The best remedy for serious dental issues is to prevent them from arising in the first place. Dental problems like cavities and gum diseases if treated early can prevent serious dental issues in the future. The most important thing you can do to prevent issues is come in twice each year for your checkups.

Rothschild Dentists

Don’t miss your

Professional Cleanings

Each time you visit our Rothschild office, you’ll receive a professional cleaning from one of our dental hygienists. These regular cleanings enhance your daily brushing and flossing routine by getting to hard-to-reach surfaces. Cleanings are also an opportunity for Dr. Skutak to evaluate dental potential problems. Our hygienists are trained to clean your teeth with your comfort in mind.

Go metal-free with

Composite Fillings

Composite fillings allow Dr. Skutak to fill cavities without the use of metal alloys, while still protecting teeth from further damage. Silver or amalgam fillings can stain teeth over time, making them appear grey. Composite fillings look like your natural teeth and can be matched to your existing shade. If your old silver fillings are failing, we can replace them with composite for a fresh and healthy smile.

How Often Should I Schedule Teeth Cleanings?

The ADA (American Dental Association) and all other major dental associations recommend six-month intervals for teeth cleanings and oral exams, and that’s what we recommend at Skutak Dental, too.

Six-month cleanings and oral exams allow Dr. Skutak to keep an eye on your oral health, and also provide our dental team with the opportunity to remove plaque and bacteria from your teeth, which helps prevent gum disease and cavities.

By seeing us regularly every six months, we’ll become more familiar with your unique oral health challenges, and you’ll be able to build a real relationship with our dental team, which provides better overall oral health outcomes.

Not only that, but most dental insurance plans cover 100% of the cost of twice-yearly cleanings and oral exams, so seeing Skutak Dental every six months is the best way to make the most of your benefits.

I'm Afraid of the dentist

What Should I Do?

First, we recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with Dr. Skutak. If you have serious dental anxiety, Dr. Skutak can listen to your past experiences at the dentist, and work with you to try to develop coping strategies and mechanisms that will allow you to get the dental care you need without fear, anxiety, and intimidation.

For example, if you are anxious because you do not like the loss of control associated with dental work, Dr. Skutak can adjust her treatment process, and ask for your consent when she performs each step of your dental treatment. Or, if you do not like the sound of dental drills, you can listen to music or a podcast during your consultation at Skutak Dental. We will work with you to develop a strategy that works for your own unique situation.

In addition to this, we offer sedation dentistry in Rothschild. We offer both minimal sedation with nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and deeper sedation with a pill-based sedative. Sedation is often the best way for patients with dental anxiety to relax during their appointment, so you can discuss these options with Dr. Skutak during your initial appointment.

Above all, do not let dental anxiety or phobia stop you from getting the dental care you need. Routine dental care is essential for your oral health and your whole-body health, and the team at Skutak Dental is standing by to provide the gentle, caring, patient-focused treatment you need.

Do I really need to Floss My Teeth?

Yes! Flossing is an essential part of your daily oral hygiene routine, and should be done at least once per day. Flossing is important because brushing alone is not enough to remove all of the bacteria, plaque, and food particles that may get stuck between your teeth and your gums.

If you do not floss, your risk of both gum disease and tooth decay will be higher, since you will not be cleaning your mouth as thoroughly. Learning to floss properly can take a little bit of work, but it’s worth it, and once you become an expert, it takes no time at all.

So protect your oral health. Make sure you floss once per day. And for even better results, follow up flossing with mouthwash! Rinsing with mouthwash can help rinse away particles knocked loose by the flossing process.
